Our history

If you love dreams and want to see one that has come true, look for "L'Emporio dell'Occhiale" in Mestre… You'll be surprised!

The dream is that of a child who liked sunglasses. A child who, after 30 years-experience with one of the best opticians in Venice, aimed to welcome customers in his own shop. A shop where you can find fashionable and original frames, produced with the latest technology. More importantly… at affordable prices.

The owner, Massimo, was born in Venice in 1956. Following his father's death, at the age of 12, he found a job as an apprentice with one of the most famous opticians in Venice, just because he liked Rayban sunglasses.

From a simple fascination he soon developed a real passion that will lead him to take his apprenticeship to the next level and become the shop owner's right-hand-man. A diploma in Optic-Optometry at the School "Enrico Fermi" in Perugia soon followed. At the age of 20, married and with a baby on the way, his dream was finally shaping up.

In April 2000, after successfully enrolling with the Chamber of Commerce, he opened his first shop: L'Emporio dell'Occhiale, offering his trademark promise - great choice and high quality at affordable prices.

His passion is so contagious that he managed to turn it into a 'family affair'. He opened a second shop in Mestre, managed by his wife Patrizia, and also convinced his daughter Francesca to take the diploma in Optic after having achieved her studies in…??

"Eyewear has always fascinated me, glasses are the first thing people notice on someone's face. Helping people see better gives me great satisfaction, as it does helping them find the right frame for their glasses. The choice of eyewear shouldn't be purely aesthetic, each customer should be treated according to their needs and anatomy with frames and lenses best suited to their condition."
